Mounting a LCD TV on the Wall

If you are a proud owner of a brand new LCD TV, you might consider mounting it on the wall to save space and provide a better viewing angle in your Arkansas home. What is the best way to do this TV installation?

While the heaviest of entertainment products, you want to make sure, you mount in the right place or you could run into some major problems that could be costly.

First, you need a quality wall mount. Be sure and select the right one for your TV. Search around as the prices vary and some are definitely too costly. You can find what you are looking for and where to find it by searching on the internet. You can examine the sizes and prices right there to you will be ready when you decide to buy.

Next, you will want to select the right tools to do the job. You will be drilling some holes so you will need a quality drill with a 3/16" bit. You will need a socket set for working with the latch bolts. You will want a hammer, level, and utility knife. Since you will be fixing the mount on a firm surface, you will want a stud-finder to locate the place where you will be drilling holes. You will be mounting them on the studs in your wall and not the wall board. Lay out your mount and refer to the instructions. Determine on your TV where the mounting screws are, and remove them. Find the right size bolt and fix the mounting bars to the TV. Chose the height you want and determine where the studs are in the wall with your stud finder. Mark that spot with a pencil. You will need an upper and a lower hole. You will need two studs so make sure you mark them both.

Hold the mount up and determine where those holes are to be. Place the level on top to make sure it is true and mark those spots, and lower the mount. Now you need to drill 4 holes at the spot where you marked. Place the mount on the wall, and drive the 4 lag bolts into the holes through the mount. Make sure they are tight. With the help of someone else, hang your LCD TV on the mount on the wall.

Plug it in to make sure it works. Stand back and look at your TV installation. Grab some popcorn and a soft drink and watch the game in style with everything out of the way. If you think all of this DIY stuff is just too much, then you should consider hirering a professional. In which case you should consider Joyous Sounds.
